Little Red Riding Hood
Once upon a time in a far away village, there was a girl named Little Red Riding Hood. One day, her mother told her to go to her grandmother’s house because she was sick, and to bring a basket with chocolate, sugar, bread and sweets so that she would get better faster.
Before leaving, her mother told her to be very careful in the forest because that’s where the ferocious wolf lived. Just a little while into her journey, Little Red bumped into the wolf, who asked where she was going.
Little Red Riding Hood answered that she was bringing a basket to her grandmother’s house. In that moment, the wolf challenged her to a race along two different paths. He would take the longer path, and he would let her take the shorter path to give her an advantage.
Little Red accepted, and the race began. Before arriving to her grandmother’s house, the wolf had already arrived and had eaten her grandmother! Upon entering the house, Little Red saw her grandmother lying in bed. She walked closer to give her a hug, and said:
“Grandmother, what big eyes you have!”
“The better to see you with, my dear.”
“Grandmother, what big ears you have!”
“The better to hear you with, my dear.”
Grandmother, what a big nose you have!”
“The better to smell you with, my dear.”
“But Grandmother, what a big mouth you have…”
And in that very moment, the wolf pounced on her, saying, “The better to eat you with!” No matter how Little Red tried to escape, the wolf was getting closer and closer.
As she ran away, she screamed, hoping that someone would hear her and come help, and so it was. There were two hunters nearby who came to see what was the matter, and when they saw what was happening, they shot the evil wolf.
Right away they pulled grandmother out of the wolf’s stomach, and Little Red Riding Hood realized that she must never disobey her mother again, and that you should listen to adults because they are wiser, more experienced and always tell us things for our own good.
